This piece is even better than we had hoped! It fits perfectly in our small apartment. The drawers slide easily and are well made. The bottom drawer holds a file folder vertically and not horizontally. We love it!
This would have been 5 stars but for the problems with shipping and fit and finish - Expand's customer service was excellent, and the unit is fantastically designed and perfect for small space offices. Ours is in an 18 x 18 inch corner between our closet and a window and the desk folds out across the closet opening. Perfect for a tiny bedroom in a tiny house. And no issues with a 2-screen setup - 27 inch monitor on top of the cabinet and a laptop/stand on the fold out desk. The laptops and laptop stand and all peripherals (wireless keyboard and mouse and chargers) and work documents easily fit in the drawers.
Unfortunately the DHL shipping experience was very poor, and Canada-US shipping is not inexpensive at $199 USD. The package was a week late and arrived in terrible condition - big holes in the box patched up by DHL tape. It seemed like it had been dropped off a truck and taken back to the warehouse to be patched up multiple times. The unit arrived with some cosmetic damage to the drawers, which was likely a factory defect, as well as damage to the chair, which I chalk up to DHL's rough handling.
As noted above, Expand was great about addressing the damage and offering to discount the product by a fair amount or arrange for local repair. And the product is unique so I'd definitely purchase form Expand again.
I sent this desk as a gift to my daughter and son-in-law due to the fact that they have a tiny home and space is a premium. the wait was lengthy due to covid but expand kept me totally informed along the way. This piece of furniture is extremely well built and absolutely beautiful. this is my first experience with expand but it won't be my last. They are so professional; courteous and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for an excellent experience. I would rate them a "10" if possible.
I’ve had this desk for a couple weeks and it’s great in my studio apartment. I tuck it away on weekends beside my couch and use the desk both with the chair and a standing desk that I put on top. I’m happy with this purchase, having extra storage built in and that it’s on wheels to easily put away
This is the perfect solution for students. It's very easy to move around on flat floors, even with the table up. Over the next holiday I'll either stain the natural wood a light grey color or use contact paper (to match my color scheme) but the natural finish looks amazing! Expand Furniture was very quick to answering my questions and I look forward to purchasing the Expanda Console in the future!
